Guinness models are always popular and
are collected by brewery transport enthusiasts and breweriana
collectors alike. Once new models are released by the manufacturers
they are quickly 'snapped-up' and the value of some models can
double within a few months of issue.
I have split the
Guinness pages into the odd one or two models I have from some
manufacturers, like Albedo or Eligor, continuing with the large
'fleet' of Lledo models and concluding with the (larger) Corgi
collection. |

c1930 Ford V8 pickup with tilt cover |

|
1:43 scale die-cast metal model.
Catalogue number 100129, and made in France. Year of manufacture
is not known and the model is now discontinued. The model was
shown in an Eligor leaflet in the more 'accepted' dark blue
colours (click
here to view), however, on issue the model appeared in this
colour scheme. It is not known if a Guinness vehicle ever
appeared in these colours. Does anyone have a dark blue version
of this model in their collection? If so, please email
The Drayman. Acquired for this collection - March
2003. |

1999 Collection - Limited Edition Boxed Set (1,800 produced? -
see below) |
| |
|
This set consists of 5 pieces (Karrier
trolleybus;
Ford Model 'T'
van;
Morris van;
Foden 'C' Type steam
wagon
and a
Ford articulated
lorry)
in liveries which have not been issued before. Each model
carries a period Guinness advertisement on it. The set comes in
a leatherette finish box with a signed and numbered
Limited Edition
print.
The original advertisement for the set stated that it would be
limited to
1,800.
The print, however, says it is one of 2,500! Does anyone know
if this was just the print, and the set was only limited
to 1,800? Or did Lledo actually release 2,500 of this set?
